Au delà de l'actualité qui met la turquie au premier plan, ce roman plein de poésie donne la priorité aux valeurs humaines attachées ici à un enfant et sa grand
mère au début du XXième siècle. Si ce livre trace au travers du regard d'un enfant de 10 ans les relations tragiques
entre turcs et arméniens de cette époque, il apporte surtout bien plus : la lumière des coeurs peinte avec un trait d'une grande intensité.
